A synth-based household name, Roland have now created digital emulations of many of their best-loved vintage synth-monsters and made them available via the Roland Cloud. Here, you can download your very own virtual-legend in the form of the TR-808. While not everyone was lucky enough to own the original drum machine after it gained cult-status during the nineties, they'll have been familiar with the samples, since they were ripped by plenty of adoring clones, including the Sound Canvas. Now, Roland grant producers direct access to the drum sound that helped shape countless eighties ballads and built part of the foundations of hip-hop, by planting a genuine classic directly on their DAW control panel.
